Still No Heat, But Not Broken

It’s been eight days.
Eight days of waking up to 10°C inside the camper — or colder.
Eight days of resetting a broken furnace by hand. Of tracking down motors, models, and maybe-fixes. Of booting up candle heat before coffee.

But we’re okay.

We’ve found ways to make it work:

Sleeping bags that feel like small miracles.

A barn heater that, while imperfect, does the job.

Layered socks, body heat, and quiet resolve.

The motor we need?
Tracked down — finally. After hours of cross-referencing models, phone calls, and internet sleuthing, we found one in Canada.
It wasn’t cheap.
But cold costs more.

We also made our first real attempt to reach the land.
Got within 6km before the truck got stuck in deep snow.
But the road had a name. That means someone knows it exists. And that means we’re not invisible.

The township’s on strike.
No answers. No road-clearing. Just silence.

But we keep emailing.
Keep trying.
Keep the flame — literal and metaphorical — burning.

It’s not glamorous.
It’s not easy.
But it’s ours.

And somehow, through all of this…
we’re more certain than ever:
This is where we’re meant to be.
